Sanne Anna Sofie Karlsson is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She became a member of the Swedish pop group Play during their reunion in 2009.
Sanne was born in Vendelso, Sweden with her three siblings (Stefan, Michael and Tove). Her interests when she was younger included riding horses and animals. Once, her father bribed her with a Super Nintendo to go to music lessons. She began singing and playing piano at the age of 9 and eventually studied music at Haninge Musiklasser and Rytmus Musik Observatorium.
Sanne finished her musical education in 2004 at Rytmus. She then established herself in Sweden’s underground soul scene by writing and performing her own music, having performed at the Lydmar Hotel, Hultsfred, and The Hot Spot to name a few.
In 2007 she released an album and went on tour with Swedish Eurodance musician E-Type. She has also worked with other artists, such as Polyphonics, Consuelo del Pilar and ADL.
She has also teamed up with Ulf Lindström and Johan Ekhé, a songwriter/producer team, and created the band Ghost vs Sanne.
Play's Reunion (2009-2010)Edit
After original member Rosanna Munter dropped out of Play's reunion the search for a third member started. After trying out various vocalist it was decided that Sanne would be the best choice for the group.
In 2013 Sanne competed on Idol Sweden. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the first round of viewer voting.
In 2016 Sanne began releasing music under the name SAY. So far, two songs have been released.
